Acoustic Leak Testing
Gases or liquids emerging through leaks produce ultrasonic vibrations by turbulences. These vibrations can be located by suitable ultrasonic detectors. The oscillated vibrations are modified into low-frequency sound which is located within the acoustic range of human ears by signal converter or into electrical signals.
The detection of sound signals of gas or liquid leakages has many advantages compared with other leak testing methods, where the surface of the test specimen has to be accessible and visual testing is required.

The ultrasonic testing device SONAPHONE Pocket serves for quick and simple detection of small leaks.
